When reading the book the first time I couldn't get a feel of the time period but you definitely showed it in this video! It was nice to see and I really liked how you showed new orleans during that time!
I liked this trailer alot. I really loved how heavily it focused on the 50s. often times i forget that book even took place in the 50s and I loved that you made that evident.
Your focus on the time period was really helpful! When reading the book I didn't pay much attention to what else was going on during that time. I also really enjoyed the music that you chose! This trailer was really informative of what the book is about and would definitely encourage me to read the book if i hadn't already!
I thought this trailer was great! It was very organized and seemed like a lot of thought went into it. I really liked how you set the time period, as I believe that is crucial for the viewers to know. I also liked the parts where you zoomed in on the text to emphasize a specific point.
I like how you said "imagine New Orleans in the 1950s....you are a high school girl whose mother is a prostitute" I think this really draws the viewer in. I also liked the photos of pages from the book.
I really like how you contextualized the book--time period, city, and culture-- before really getting into who the characters are. It makes it so much easier to understand what the characters might be struggling with and makes you want to read the book more.
I really enjoyed the way you set the scene of New Orleans and that time period. It provided great background to the rest of the story and hooked me as a viewer to want to keep watching. I also really enjoyed your song choice.
